LOUISE W. VERY, 85, of Main Street died Friday at Kent County Memorial Hospital. She was the widow of Frederick Very.
Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late John A. and Martha (Brown) Harris. She was a bookkeeper for the Cherry and Webb Co. for 2 7 years before retiring in 1980. She was later a nurse's aide at the former Lying-in Hospital, now Women and Infants Hospital.
She was a Girl Scout leader and active in programs many years ago. She was a direct descendant of William Harris, one of six persons who settled in Rhode Island with Roger Williams.
Mrs. Very leaves three daughters, Elizabeth V. Dorosko of Coventry, Martha V. Balgord of Cranston, and Janice V. Creamer of Charlestown; three sons, Frederick Very Jr. of Helena, Mont., Dr. Philip S. Very of Chicago, Ill., and Lawrence R. Very of Woonsocket; a sister, Ann Vernon of Providence; a brother, John B. Harris of North Smithfield; 19 grandchildren, and 5 great-grandchildren.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday at 10 a.m. at Bellows Funeral Chapel, 160 River Rd., Lincoln. Burial will be in Swan Point Cemetery, Providence.
