Will of Francis Goward. Date 24 Feb 1797. Francis Goward of Easton, Bristol Co, Yeoman, aged 58 years. First all debts and duties owed to be paid. Farm to continue undivided until youngest son Isaac is 21 years old provided he lives to that time - farm to be in the care of Mary my wife, to be improved by one, two or all my boys. My oldest son Francis shall have one quarter acres for a garden westerly adjoining my house until the division. Any profits above the expense to be disposed of as thought most convenient by executos. Stock to be kept & supported until division for the use & benefit of Wife & family. I have sold a part of dwelling home to Francis on conidtions of reparining the home. Mary my wife shall never be debarred from having a right or privilege in any part of the home. Lucinda my younges Daughter to have privilege so long as she is single and no longer. My two youngest sons Israel & Isaac to have privilege, etc. Neither to bring a family into my house so long as their mother shall live, without her consent. If they survive their Mother, my three sons to have equal right or division in what is my part of said house. Son Francis to have various benefits until division. Lucinda, youngest daughter to have feather bed & furniture & looking glass, furniture, etc. Also cow, sheep, and $50 in cash or value thereof to be paid equally alike by my three sons when division is made. My eldest daughter Polly Carpenter in additon to what I have given her, goat, two sheep, $35 in cash. When son Isaac shall arrive to 21, my three sons to come equally in possession of farm, barn, etc. exclusive of their mother's thirds during her live and five acres at her disposal over and above her thirds. All my farm tools to be equally divided among my three sons at time of division. After their Mother's death, her part to be equally divided among my three son.
