John Glass, who lived five miles east of north of Elwood, died this Monday morning of brain fever after an illness of but three days. Mr. Glass was a young man of about 22. A week ago, Geo. Gifford, living in the same neighborhood died from the same disease; also sick only three days. Mr. Gifford was about 35 years old and leaves a wife and two children.
Note: Brain fever could have been meningitis, could also have been encephalitis
