LA SALLE — Daniel I. Wallace, 71, of La Salle, passed away at 11:58 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 23, at OSF St. Francis Medical Center.
Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at Burgess Funeral Home in La Salle with visitation from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in La Salle.
He was born Dec. 24, 1939, in Bonne Terre, Mo., to Richard and Stella (Thomure) Wallace. He married Bonnie Sue Pelfrey on Oct. 7, 1970, in Ottawa.
He served with the U.S. Army for six years. Daniel retired from Advanced Asphalt where he worked for more than 20 years. He was a member of Teamsters Local 722 for many years.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Sue Wallace of La Salle; one daughter, Vickie (Robert) Stasik of Fletcher, Okla.; two sons, Rick (Brenda) Ruth of Centerton, Ark., and Daniel "Booper" Wallace of Chicago; one sister, Anita Wallace of Ottawa; four brothers, David (Jean) Wallace and Jerry (Marilyn) Wallace, both of Ottawa, William Wallace of Idaho and Benjamin (Patricia) Wallace of La Salle; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters and one brother.
