Lt. Dean H. Sherman, 23, whose wife is Mrs. Constance A. Sherman, 567 Sherman Ave., and who is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William F. Sherman, Gilt Edge, Mont., has been missing over Nagoya, Japan, since May 14, following a bombing raid.
Lt. Sherman was pilot of a B-29. He had participated in five combat missions over Japan.
He was born March 12, 1922, at Lewistown, Mont., and obtained his education there. Following graduation from high school, he enlisted in the army air forces in November, 1940. He was commissioned at Douglas, Ariz., Feb. 6, 1943.
He married Constance Baldwin in the Salt Lake LDS temple, April 30, 1943.
In addition to his wife and parents, he has a five-month-old son, Marion Carl, and three brothers and a sister, Gene & George Sherman, with the navy; Jimmy Sherman, Los Angeles, and Mrs. Ruth Bennet, Gilt Edge.
