Arthur Aylesworth

( - Bef 13 Sep 1726)

Arthur Aylworth/Aylesworth came to American previous to Jul 1679. There were 9 children. His will was written 8 May 1718, a codicil added on 7 Nov 1725. One of the witnesses, Jeremiah Gould appeared before the town council of North King's Town [Kingston, Washington Co, RI] on 13 Sep 1726 to present the written instrument.

Mary was apparently deceased when Arthur wrote his will in 1718. He left his farm with all appurtenances to his son Phillip. If he died without heirs then the farm should descend to any male heirs of son Chad. If Chad whould die without a male heir, then to son Robert. Eldest son Robert was to receive 5£; son Arthur 3£; son John 3£, son Chad a half of the personal estate and 40£. Eldest daughter, Mary Green to receive 3£; daughter Elizabeth Dolliver the same, daughter Katherine 3£ and bedding; daughter Martha to receive the same as Katherine [Katherine & Martha apparently unmarried]. Son Philip to be executor.

The codicil to the above will, gave son Chad his bed and bedding instead of the half of his father's personal estate. Phillip was to have all his personal estate that was left. Katharine and Martha had already by 1725 received the bed and bedding mentioned in the will so probably both had married.
