However, the 1900 census has Armilda Thomas, dau of Sophia Allen & William Thomas, b. Mar 1895, age 5. The Thomas family and Sarah J. Allen, b. 1872, were all living with Adoriam, now widowed. Was the enumerator confused? Or was he told the child was a Thomas to hide her illigitimatcy?
