6 sep 1786. Thomas Jones of Pittsylvania County of sound mind. Item: all just debts to be paid. To beloved wife Mary, Negro girl Mary. All my Land to be equally divided between by son Thomas and son Emanuel and daughter Mary and their heirs forever, to be divided when Thomas is aged 21. If they cannot agree, the land is to sold and son Emanuel to choose his garden. If daughter Ann Iveson Dawson should come for an equal part of my parceling estate, her husband Jonathan Brooks Dawson is to replace the sum of money he has of mine, to be returned by the first day of Dec next with interest from the day he received it. If he does not return the money, my daughter Ann Ivison Dawson should receive no more of my estate. If she doesn't come in for a part, then the parceling estate to be equally divided betwwen sons Thomas & Emanuel and daughter Mary. Executors to be wife Mary and son Thomas and Flaued (sp - Floyd?) Tanner.
