William Haden Sweeney

Mr. William H. Sweeney, who has been ill for several months at his home on the corner of Twelfth and Center streets, died yesterday at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. He had a stroke of paralysis some months ago and has never been well since. The immediate cause of his death was pneumonia. The deceased was 69 years old and was a well-known farmer of this county. He was born three miles from Bowling Green, on his father's (Noel Sweeney) place on the Morgantown pike; was married to Miss Maria Atchison, daughter of the late Jno. Atchison, of this city. She died two years ago last December. Mr. Sweeney is survived by one son, John W. Sweeney, of the White Stone Quarry, and one daughter, Miss Mary Sweeney, who lives here; one brother, Mr. Jesse Sweeney of this county, and sone sister, Mrs. Nannie Holman of this city. He was also a brother to the late Thomas J. Sweeney of this county. The deceased has lived in this county all his life. He moved here from the White Stone Quarry community about two years ago. He was a faithful member of the Providence Baptist Church. The funeral services will be conducted at his late residence tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock by Rev. J. S. Dill ans Rev. Tobia Ham, and interment will take place in Fairview cemetery.
Mr. Sweeney was a good citizen and an excellent man. He had a wide circle of relatives and friends who mourn their loss in the death of Mr. Sweeney.
