J. D. "Henry" Fisher was born the son of Bessie Arlene Goddard and Henry Clayton Fisher.
He served in the U.S.S. Isherwood in World War II, one of only a few survivors of a kamikaze attack. During his career, he was an oil lease operator, an ironworker and an automobile dealer in Drumwright, Oklahoma. Upon moving to Fayetteville in the mid-1950s, he established Fisher Buick and Mercedes Benz, which he owned and operated until his retirement in the late 1980s. He was a Shriner and a 32nd degree Mason for more than 50 years.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Cecil, and a son, John Fisher.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Hannah Fisher of the home; four daughters, Jennifer Rolfe and husband, Leon, of Fayetteville, Harla Wardle and husband, Kevin, of Fayetteville; Theresa Norris and husband, John, of Mazie, Oklahoma, Patricia Higgins and husband, Jim, of Fayetteville, and a son, James Fisher of Fayetteville; grandchildren, Nathan Higgins and wife, Teesha, Casey Higgins, Jammie Fisher, Alexia, Ashtin, Garrett and Kaitlyn Wardle and Wesley and Miles Rolfe, all of Fayetteville, Joey and Maddie Divis of Elkins and Shawnna Palmer and husband, Jason, and Shannon Marriot, all of Vinita, Okla., and three greatgrandchildren.
