Mary DeLois "Dee" (Little) Spearing was born in Heavener, OK on December 24,1925 to Beulah Mae and Peter Benton Little and passed away on April 24, 2014 at the age of 88 in Tulsa, OK. After spending her childhood in Heavener, she graduated from The University of Oklahoma in 1947 with a degree in Journalism. She married the late Edwin Wilson Spearing in 1954 and had four children. After raising children,she worked in the health care held at Saint Francis Continued Care Home Health and retired in 1994. She then started her most fulfilling and rewarding professional work as a volunteer for the Retired Senior Volunteer Program. She volunteered as a Tulsa Airport Ambassador and was proud to be named Concourse Chairman. She also volunteered as a greeter at the Oklahoma Aquarium. She was an avid gardener. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Church. She is survived by daughter, Suzanne Wyatt and her husband, Richard of Norman; twin sons, David of Tulsa and Stephen of San Antonio; and daughter, Kristen Underhill and her husband, Tim of Tulsa; grandchildren, Jeremy, Rachel, Allen, Lauren, and Madison. She was preceded in death by former husband, Edwin and grandson, Daniel. The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff of University Village Retirement Center and Evergreen Hospice for making her final months more comfortable and peaceful. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 29th, 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Episcopal Church in Tulsa. Services are under the direction of Add'Vantage Funeral Service. Interment will be in Heavener, OK at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the O.U. Sooner Club, 180 W. Brooks, Suite 3575, Norman, OK 73019.
