Eliza was apparently married at least three times. First to a Richards, then to Moses Holmes, third to James Wilson Haden.

I'm sure her will contains much more information; she seemed to be quite wealthy.

Banks Arendell, while still a minor, guardian F. B. Arendell, asked that his funds be moved to Raleigh where he lived. F. B. was probably his father.

Money paid to legaties: Mary E. Wyche, Bessie E. Arendell, Crissy M. Carnes [only $500 while others got thousands] 1st Natl bank for Burial Lot, 1st Methodist Church [$1500] & $2400 for Educational purposes. W. F. Miller, Extr of Wm G. Miller got $1000.

I finally found Eliza in the 1880 Census, when she was still married to Moses L. Holmes. They were in Salisbury, Rowan Co., Hh 466

Smith, M. R. [female], age 13. No relationship stated.
Mary Banks, age 24, servant and cook
I can only assume M. R. Smith was the Mary R. Wyche who was one of the legatees of Eliza's will. Mary was apparently raised by Eliza.
