Juanita Ola Speaks, 66, of Grandview died Thursday in Sunnyside.
She was born in Greybull, Wyo., and came to Prosser in 1950. Starting in 1977, she owned and operated Nita's Home Cooking Restaurant in Grandview. She later lived in Prosser, where she and her husband managed the Harvest House Bed and Breakfast and The Lobby Coffee Shop. Since 1991, the couple has managed senior living centers for Holiday Corp.
She is survived by her husband, Kenneth Speaks of Grandview; mother, Juanita Helen Kinney of Prosser; four daughters, Debhora Bridger of Grandview, Cynthia Drake of Tacoma, Angela Monyak of Dayton, Wash., and Patricia Cummins of Dallas, Ore.; a son, Kenneth Speaks of Federal Way, Wash.; three brothers, Clifton Steelman and Clifford Steelman of Prosser and Joel Steelman of Denton, Texas; two sisters, Joy Asbill of St. Charles, Mo., and Faithe Lester of Port Orchard, Wash.; 19 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will take place at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at Sunnyside Kingdom Hall. A reception and life celebration will follow at 6:30 p.m. at the Prosser Senior Center.
