Married.
Miss Mary Surratt, daughter of ex-Chief of Police Henry Suratt, and Frederick D. Collins of Van Buren, were married at the residence of Mrs. Cooper, 216 North Eleventh Street, in this city Sunday afternoon, the Rev. P. O. Fletcher officiating, and left for the on the Cannon Ball for a honeymoon trip.
[There were multiple trains called the "Cannon Ball" - the first roughly in this time frame traveled from Chicago to El Paso, TX. Others with that nickname seem to have run mostly east-west across the country. In this instance, I believe it simply referred to the train out of Fort Smith, likely headed to St. Louis, or Chicago where they could possibly have boarded one of the actual Cannon Balls. ]
