County of Watauga, State of North Carolina, Will Book A-B, p. 72
Will of A. L. Harrison
I, A. L. Harrison of aforesaid County and State do make and declare this my last will and testament.
First my executor, hereinafter named, shall give my body a creditable burial and pay all funeral expenses, together with all my just debts, out of the first moneys which may come into his hands belonging to my estate
Second. In case the land I have already deeded to my wife, L. J. Harrison, does not support her, then she is to have enough of my estate to care for her as long as she may live.
Third. I give and bequeath to my son Benjamin the sum of Five Hundred Dollars and in addition to his equal share with others as provided hereafter, on account of his being a cripple.
4th. I give and devise to my son Newton L., the three acre tract of land which he had conveyed to me about two years ago, and he is to be charged with $150.00 and interest from March 1, 1926, until probation of will out of his share hereinafter mentioned.
Fifth. James M., my son, is to be charged with $40 and interest from Sep 20, 1920 until probation of this will, out of his share.
Sixth. With the exceptions above, it is my desire that all the remainder of my property, personal and real, be divided equally among my thirteen children, that is one thirteenth to each, after Benjamin has his $500 and the charges are made to James M. and Newton L. My children are as follows: Benjamin, Newton L., James M., Lizzie, Donia, Julia, Zora, Docie, Lula, Bessie, Vesta, Roxie and Sarah.
Seventh. I hereby constitute and appoint Linley Hampton, RFD Blowing Ridge, NC, my lawful executor to all intents and purposes, to execute this my last will and testament, according to the true intent and meaning of the same, and and every part and clause thereof - hereby revoking and declaring utterly void all other wills and testaments by me heretofore made.
In witness whereof I, the said A. L. Harrison, do hereunto set my hand and seal, this the 6th day of February, 1928.
A. L. Harrison
Signed, sealed, published and declared by the said A. L. Harrison to be his last will and testament in the presence of us, who at his request, and in his presence, and in the presence of each other, do subscribe our names as witnesses thereto.
