BYRDSTOWN — Funeral services for Colean Holt Cross, 93, of Byrdstown, were held at 10 a.m. today Tuesday, Nov. 25, at Bloomington Christian Church in Byrdstown. Burial followed in Holt Family Cemetery.
Mrs. Cross passed away Sunday, Nov. 23, 2014, at Signature Health Care in Algood.
She was born Sept. 17, 1921, in Byrdstown to the late Alec and Berthie Sells Holt.
Mrs. Cross was a member of Bloomington Christian Church.
Her family includes a daughter and son-in-law, Shannon Cross (Dexter) Collett of Cookeville; two special grandsons, Kristopher Collett of Cookeville and Nathaniel Collett and wife Maegan of Dayton; two sisters, Dillie Pepperides of Dickson and Claudine Dillon of Byrdstown; a brother and sister-in-law, Coolidge and Donna Holt of Manchester; two sisters-in-law, Bertha Cross and Freda Cross, both of Clarkrange; and a number of nieces, nephews and other family members and friends.
Mrs. Cross’ family would like to also thank Jim Cross for allowing her to think of him as a son, and also Eddie, Connie, Ethan and Alex Holt for allowing her to be “Granny” to them.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Cross was preceded in death by her husband, Hoy Cross; and four sisters, Ruby Maupin, Modean Phillips, Izetta (Pood) Holt and Elwanda Johnson.
Pallbearers were Jim Cross, J.D. Parks, Brent Collett, Eddie Holt, Ethan Holt and Alex Holt.
Bros. Steve McClure and David Cross officiated the services.
Brown Funeral Chapel of Byrdstown was in charge of arrangements.
