7 Oct 1925 Will of W. N. Critcher. Desires his body to be buried in a solid walnut casket. After payment of debts & funeral Expenses, to grandson Cullom Critcher and his heirs, $500.00.
The balance of my property, real & personal to wife Alice L. Critcher for her natural life or as long as she shall remain my widow with full power to sell any portion of the personal property she desires with the consent of my executors, but not the right to dispose of my real estate herein devised. My executors are given full power to make title to any personal item sold.
Should my wife marry again, all my property, real & personal equally divided between my wife and my children subject to conditions hereinafter set out.
My wife may pay over to my children from my personal property but such amounts to be charged against them at the final division.
Upon the death of my wife, all property, real & personal to be divided among my children share and share alike. Should nay child die, then the issue of that child shall take the part to which the parent was entitled. To all my except daughter Lillie Parham, wife of Cary Parham and my son Willie Critcher - their shares are to be held in Trust, W. T. Yancey, Trustee to pay over all income. Upon the deaths of Lillie Parham and Willie Critcher, W. T. Yancey, Trustee shall pay over to their children all funds on hand and transfer and assign to the said children all property which he may hold under the terms of this will. W. T. Yancey shall control and manage the property devised to Lillie Parham and Willie Critcher and pay over the income as he deems advisable.
In the division of my lands, three disinterested shareholders of the County shall be selected by my executors to apparise the value. The share allotted to my daughter Maude Ball to include the dwelling and all outbuildings surrounding, which is situated on the J. B. Parham tract near the public road from Oxford to Henderson which is now occupied by Maude and her family. The share allotted to my daughter Lillie Parham, for life, and then to her children shall include the old home place on the D. N. Hunt tract and one half of the Novie Allen tract, said land to be divided with respect to houses and barns located thereon. I direct the share of land allotted to my daughter Maggie Gooch shall include the new dwelling on the D. N. Hunt place and one half o the Novie Allen tract. I direct that the share of my lands allotted to my daughter Mattie Barker, shald be the Knott tract in Vance County. The share allotted to my son Murray Critcher, shall be the Shelton Creek place. Lands allotted to son Willie Critcher for life and then to his children in fee simple to include the new settlement located on the J. B. Parham tract between the old home place and the place where B. F. Ball now lives and the lines be run to embrace two barns and one pack house near the J. B. Parham dwelling. Land allotted to my son Robert Critcher to include that portion of the J. B. Parham tract on which the old home place is located - the dividing line shall be fixed by the three disinterested freeholders with respect to houses and wood so each tract may reach the public road. Share of lands allotted to son, Calvin Critcher, is my present home place. Share of lands allotted to son Sam Critcher, shall be the lands upon which my store and house situated nearby are located and also the Sally Kersey land and the Patrick Allen land. I direct that lands allotted to sons, Earl Critcher and Casper Critcher shall be the home place of my father, the late William Critcher, dec'd and that Earl shall have the old home place and Casper the new hourse on the William Critcher place, the land to be divided between them so as to divide the barns and pack houses and nearly equal in amount as possible. All my lands to be appraised and valued so that there may be an equal division.
I have not devised any lands to children of my deceased son, J. H. Critcher. My executors to pay over in cash or personal property, the share to which they are entitled and to which my son would have been entitled.
I have paid premiums on insurance policies on the lives of sons, Murray, Earl, Willie, Casper & Calvin and the premiums paid by me shall be charged to my sons without interest and I give the policies to them.
Sons Calvin, Earl & Casper are to keep the lands allotted them in the family and if they desire to make sale of, to give their brothers first privilege to buy.
My executors are to sell any lands owned by me not allotted and they have full power to execute deeds. The land may be sold privately or publicly as they think best.
I appoint my wife Alice L. Critcher, and sons Robert, Murray & Calvin, executors.

2 Apr 1927. Alice L. Critcher, Robert Critcher, Murry Critcher & Calvin Critcher, Executors of W. N. Critcher deceased presented the Inventory of W. N. Critcher's personal estate. Mentions 3 mules, 1 cow & calf, 4 hogs and a pig, one Ford truck, one Buick automobile, advances to his five sons for life insurance, some worthless or doubtless debts - one to Carey H. Parham for $200, an iron safe, show cases & fixtures in store buildling. Signed Calvin Critcher.
8 March 1927. W. N. Critcher had been the administrator of the estate of his son, J. H. Critcher - and W. N.'s executors presented his report of that estate. There was a balance of $435.98 paid to Cullom Crticher who had become the admin of his father's estate. This document was signed by Robert Critcher, Murray Critcher and Calvin Critcher, Executors of the estate of W. N. Critcher.

Purchasers included Norman Barker, D. C. Critcher, J. D. Knott, W. G. Gooch, Len Gooch, C. M. Hobgood, G. R., J. D., George, Will, & Jack Barnes, Earle Critcher, Willie Critcher, Sam Critcher, Ira Day, Deck Floyd, J. W. Raynor
Total from the sale was $507.86. It was held 10 March 1928, and presented to the Court Clerk by Calvin Critcher, one of the executors.
8 December 1932. Final account and settlement filed by Calvin, Murry & Robert Critcher, Executors, listing amounts on hand and disbursements. There was a specific bequest to Cullom Critcher of $500.00.
Net of personal estate for distribution was $29, 492.24.
To support the late Alice L. Critcher during her last illness the Executors had sold Liberty Bonds of $5000.00 by order of the court.
Appraised value of land, May, 1928 $66,220.00
Net amount of estate for distribution - $95,712.27. To be divided into twelve shares. Value of each share was $7976.02 but adjusted for various advancements and value of the land as divided. Both Maude and Calvin actually owed the estate. Heirs were Maude Bell, Lillie Parham, Maggie Gooch, Murry W. Critcher, Willie Critcher, Robert Critcher, Calvin Critcher, Sam Critcher, Earle Critcher, Casper Critcher, Mattie Barker, D. Cullom Critcher - one half share and Mary Lee Bagwell, one half share.
Signed by twelve of the heirs - Mary Lee Bagwell did not sign.
24 Jan 1933 Further distribution of amounts that had come into the hands of the executors. None to Maud Ball since her land exceeded the value of her share. $56.70 each to W. T. Yancey, trustee for Lillie Parham, Maggie Gooch, Murry W. Critcher, W. T. Yancey, trustee for Willie Critcher, Robert, Calvin, Sam W., Earle and Casper Crticher, Mattie Barker, half shared to D. Cullom Critcher & Mary Lee Bagwell. Signed, Calvin, Murry & Robert Critcher. Recorded in Court 24 Jan 1934.
