GOLDEN CITY, Mo. — Dana Stratton, 94, Golden City, died at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, May 27, 1997, at a nursing home in Lockwood after a long illness.
Mrs. Stratton was born April 25, 1903, at Everton. She was a lifetime resident of the Barton County area.
She was a rural school teacher.
She was a member of First Christian Church, Golden City, Stone Farm Club and the Over 50 Club.
She married James Stratton on April 25, 1927, at Lamar. He died June 29, 1972.
Survivors include two sons, Karl Stratton, Lincoln, Ala., and Russell Stratton, Talladega, Ala.; four daughters, Lois Tucker and Shirley Townley, both of Golden City, Helen Heiskell, Neosho, and Sharon Stratton, Houston, Texas; a sister, Marie Mabry, Great Bend, Kan.; 13 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at First Christian Church, Golden City. The Rev. Scott Houston will officiate.
Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery, west of Golden City.
Grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8:30 p.m. today at Pugh Funeral Home, Golden City.
Contributions may be made to First Christian Church, Golden City.
