Mrs. Mary Mahala Baker Easterling, age 74, died at the home on Higgins Ferry road at 8 am Monday, following an illness of two weeks
...besides the husband, James Lewis Easterling, surviving are five daughters - Mrs. Camilla Adams, Mrs. Minnie Blalock, Mrs. Roberta Mims, Mrs. Estell Johnson, and Mrs. Ethie Wyatt; five sons - Kimmie Easterling, Jim, Allie, Judson, all of Clanton, and Curtis of Sylaucauga. There are three sisters - Mrs. A. J. Jones of Clanton, Mrs. R. A. Hardy of Birmingham, and Mrs. Minnie F. Thornton of Clanton; three brothers - Charlie and Monroe Baker of Clanton, and Ocie Baker of Sylacauga. 38 grand children and 28 great grand children.
Born and reared in Chilton County, Mrs. Easterling was the daughter of James Baker and Martha Collins Baker; she was born October 19, 1873 and had been married to J. L. Easterling 58 years....
