Cathy Haden
July 30, 1964 - August 20, 2022
Cathy Dorene Haden was born July 30, 1964, in Clanton, Alabama to parents Hershel and Lois (Maddox) Wright.
No better words could describe her than a self-made woman. The youngest of four children, she graduated from Clanton High School in Clanton, Alabama a year early and left immediately to attend classes at Auburn University. While at Auburn, she met her true love, Stuart Haden, at age 19, and went on to complete her degree in Criminal Justice. After graduating from Auburn, she entered law school in Birmingham, Alabama at Cumberland School of Law to obtain her Doctor of Jurisprudence. She had known from a very young age that she was going to change lives in the courtroom.
Upon finishing law school, she followed Stuart to Dallas, Texas. The two were married shortly after in March of 1990, where they raised two children and dedicated their hearts to both of them. As her children became school-aged, she returned to the courtroom as a Municipal Court Judge in Plano, Texas, and found her true career calling. She would later add duties as a Municipal Court Judge in Carrollton and Rowlett, Texas.
In April of 2017, she was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukemia. She fought graciously and enjoyed enough remission to allow her to see both children graduate from college and meet their own future life partners. The family is eternally grateful for the 5 years the doctors gave her after her initial diagnosis.
Survivors include her husband, Stuart Haden, son Connor Haden and his wife Gillian Haden, daughter Lindsay Haden and Cathy’s siblings Pat Milford, Danny Wright, and Benny Wright.
Cathy will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. She touched so many and left pieces of herself everywhere she went.
There will be an Afternoon of Remembrance from 2:00-5:00 p.m. with Words of Remembrance spoken at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 10, 2022, at Allen Family Funeral Options. Refreshments will be served.
If desired, contributions may be made in Cathy’s name to a charity of your choice or Plant a Tree as seen on the obituary.
