William Allen Tanner died Brackenridge Hospital, Austin, Travis Co, TX, 25 Dec 1931 of heart problems and nephritis. He was widowed, name of wife unknown. Born 14 Jun 1850 in Bastrop County, TX, he had been a farmer and blacksmith. Parents were N. B. Tanner, born St. Louis, MO, and Miss Sarah E. Thomas, born in Virginia. J. L. Tanner of Star Route, Austin, was the informant. William was buried Dec 26th, Oak Hill Cemetery.

One of the following death certificates of Mary or Joel has the wrong mother - in 1910, William stated he had been married only once. It appears that Malinda Sappington gave the wrong information because even her own death certificate listed her mother as Nancy Lear Lawrence.
