Individual Details
Seymour Dowd
(22 Jul 1762 - 7 Jul 1818)
Killed by fall of a tree.
Some references - Hulbut books - state that Jerusha Hurlbut, daughter of Samuel, twin of Samuel Jr., born in Chatham CT, 29 Dec 1771, was married to Seymour Dowd. She died in Hubbardton, VT on 3 May 1826. Their children are cited as Rhoda, Anson, Mary "Polly", Jesse, and Electa, who died young. No Lydia.
The Jewell family claims Dorcas Jewell as his wife, with daughter Lydia. Could this marriage have been prior to the one to Jerusha?
One of the Dowd books, The descendants of Henry Doude who came from England in 1639, also claims that Seymour married a Miss Jewel.
