Milton N. Hett, 76, died July 15 in the Axtell Hospital in Newton. Services were held in the Baker Funeral Chapel in Peabody, July 17, with Pastor Roger Megli officiating. Burial was in Prairie Lawn Cemetery, Peabody.
He was born Sept. 19, 1904 in Marion County and grew up in the Morning Star neighborhood west of Marion.
On Aug 1, 1929, he married Hazel Ferm West.
He was a skilled carpenter and was responsible for the construction of many area homes. He was involved in many smaller woodworking projects in his shop since his retirement.
Preceding him in death were his parents and brothers and sisters, and son, Jimmy Lee.
Surviving are his wife; two brothers-in-law, Otto Vandenburg of Emporia and Robert West and wife Hazel of Layton, Utah; four sisters-in-law, Naomi Hett of Emporia, Helen West Mock and husband Clarence of West Plains, Mo., June West Graser of Mission, Texas, and Penny Maddox and husband John of Inglewood, Colo.
