This genealogy of an Autosomal DNA match completely falls apart with this family. The descendant has invented a child, Lou Emily Bowman, b. 2 Apr 1873, Owsley, KY, who married William Chadwick. No such child appears in the family in 1880 unless Nancy J. was NOT her mother, Andrew had divorced, and Lou Emily was living elsewhere.
Actually Emily Bowman, age 4 was in the household of Tipton & Elizabeth Bowman in 1880; she is with Dave Chadwick, both age 27, in 1900. In 1900, they are on the same page with Nancy "Brogan"

Nancy "Brogan" - Mother-in-Law, b. Jan 1841, age 59, Widow, 5 children all living (surname wrong, date of birth wrong but close, number of children questionable but I know of 4. The family has solved this problem by giving her still another husband - a John Brogan, and a child by him, Martha Ellen, b. 1878. Then has Martha married to a General John Jackson Gentry. This simply is not possible when compared to the 1880 census.
BUT next door in Hh 199
John Lane, b. Oct 1865, 34, married 16 years - with wife Rachel and 8 children - he is the right age to be John S. Lane of the 1880 census.
AND in Hh 201
James Bowman, b. Aug 1879, age 20
Franky, wife, b. Jan 1881, 19 - no children yet



Another Nancy Bowman is listed in Island Creek in 1900 - but her information is even more off. The following two records are attached at Ancestry - but they are not this Nancy.

Kentucky Death Certificate. Nancy Bowman, widow, died in Sturgeon, Owsley Co, KY on Sep 19, 1924 of carcinoma of the face. She was born in Kentucky, 14 Mar 1840. Her father was William Morris, her mother Margaret, Sandlin. David Bowman of Blake KY was both the undertaker and the informant.
