Comstock was a grocer and ship chandler in New London. His wife was Ursula S. Harris.
His telling of "The Wreck of the Steamer Atlantic" can be found in the Connecticut Historical Society Bulletin, Vol 42, No. 1. He was on board when the Atlantic broke apart during a storm, 2 Dec 1846.
