I George Proctor of Jessamine County and State of Kentucky being in a low state of health but of Sound mind and memory do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament To wit
I order that my just debts and funeral expenses be paid by my Executors. As my wife Elizabeth Proctor is at present not in good health, I deem it impossible for her to manage my negroes and farm with advantage for her self at my estate as with ease and comefort to herself. I therefore order that the house the foundation of which I have begun be finished and other necessary buildings be put up near thereto for her residence so long as her health permits or she may inclince so to do a parcel of ground must be attached to the said buildings judged Sufficient large by my Said wife and my Executors for yard and garden. I order that my wife retain out of my goods and chattels what she my judge to be Sufficient for her to Keep house with I order that the remainder of my goods and chattels be sold my negroes hired & my farm rented out in the way which may be judged best by my Executors and the proceeds are to be appropriated for the decent and comfortable subsistence for my said wife and children I recommend to my Executors to have a Strict regard to economy and propriety if any thing remains of those proceed after the yearly expenditure. I order that it be spended in the way judged to be most productive by my Executors if there should in any year be a deficiency I leave them to supply it in the way judged best by them I order that my sons at proper ages be put learn decent and profitable trades which I allow my executors to select unless it should be observed by them that some other course would be more to their advantage and more suitable to their inclination I order that my children have as good education as the proceeds of my estate will afford I can neither order nor recommend any thing more on this Subject but that my executors plan the course of their education and attend to it with the same feeling and promptitude that they would have others to exercise towards if they think fit may sell my negro man Friday but should they sell him the money arising from the sale

must be laid out in the purchase of another negro man My Executors may if they think it best (and also having the assent of my said wife Sell my farm in the best market which can be known to them and lay the money out arising theirfrom in the purchase of young negro boys to be hired out and the proceeds used as is provided in the case of my other negroes but the discretion allowed in the two last cases not be exercised by any but the Executors herein expressly named It is hereby provided that if contrary to my expectation my wife Should be again married that unless her husband shall relinquish by deed acknowledged and entered of record his right to charge any of my Children forbaring washing to aging cloathing & schooling directly or indirectly then in case of such failure or refusal my children are to be provided for by my Executors in the way which they may judge best not contrary to the foregoing orders touching them I order that when my children should arrive at the age of twenty one years, they be put in possession of their equal part of two thirds of my estate of one third thereof be sufficient for the Maintainance of my wife but if should not be Sufficient and adequate provision must be left for her and the remaining part be the dividend among my Said Children I order that my executors exhibit at the August court in each years and account of their receipts and expenditures made under this Will I order that my children Columbus, Washington, Montgomery & Uriah in the final Distribution of my estate have equal portions. I hereby appoint Thomas Proctor, John Perry and Elijah Begg Executors of this my last Will and testament
