Pleasant Barbee is in the 1850 Logan Co census - obviously the father to the Barbee girls that married Proctors - he was 51, or born 1799, in North Carolina. Melinda, 53, b. NC. P. H., 19, female. George F., 17. William G. 14, and there's Sarah J., age 11.
Mary Ann, wife of Robert as 26 in 1850, born 1824. Sarah, wife of Elijah, born 1839 (1850) or 1841 (1860).
Pleasant & Melinda were still in Logan Co in 1860, with only George F. at home.
Pleasant was now age 61, Melinda, 63, George, 27.
On the same census page at Elijah's older brother, Samuel.
Melinda probably a second wife - I found databases citing Pleasant Barbee's wife as Jane O'Kelly - they married Dec 1821 in Chatham Co, NC. He is said to have died, 1864, in Logan - not in the cemetery book, though.

Son George F. Barbee is buried Greenwood Cemetery, Adairville, Logan, with the dates, b. 29 Mar 1833, d. 1 Dec 1889. He married Susan Offutt, 21 Feb 1865. She was the daughter of Felix G. Offutt, granddaughter of Tilghman Offutt.
