Gideon Bowles was the grandfather, born about 1734, Goochland? - died 1 May 1798, Goochland. His wife was Ann Hughes. Their children were baptized St. James Northam. Hughes was born 7 Feb 1760, baptized 27 Apr 1760. In one entry, Gideon's wife is listed as Charity, but that entry falls within those for Gideon's wife Ann - either she had two given names, or the Rev. Douglas made an error (I have others he made). Gideon's father may have been a John Bowles who died in Goochland, 1750.
