All census records indicate her name is Manie, not her sister Mamie who is in Texas in an institution until her death in 1982. We know that who I believe to be Manie, goes on to marry and have three children under her nickname of June. I know this as she is my grandmother. Other family members disagree with my assessment and have chosen to continue to leave her name as Mamie Margaret "June" , reasons given are that this is what they were told her true name was by a family member.
