Individual Details

Permelia A. Porter

(Abt 1827 - 1 Aug 1888)

Name given to me by Porter family researcher as "Permelia". 1850 Census shows Pamelia which I believe is much more likely.

[Researcher JTL shows all the children from Permelia on, born in Ohio Co KY. When did this family move?]

1860 Census, Cromwell District, Ohio Co KY
p.680, Dwelling 646. Milton Taylor age 34, Farmer, Pamelia A. age 23, Jerome M. 8, Hannibal A. 3, and Elvis, two months. Living with them was Malinda Barnett, widow & seamstress with what appear to be her sons: William 16, John R. 14, Adam 10, and Theodore age 1 month.

1870 Census, Cromwell, Ohio Co KY
p.428, Dwelling 366 Parmelia A. Taylor age 42, Jerome age 18, Hannibal 13, and Wm B. age 11 [This appears to be the infant named Elvis in 1860 - they must have changed his name or the enumerator misunderstood]. Virgil Hobdy age 14 also lived with the family - if he was a nephew, he was not listed with Richard & Sarah Porter Hobdy in 1860.

1880 Census, Cromwell, Ohio Co KY
