Nancy Jane Bowman

(28 Dec 1858 - 19 Oct 1944)

A Nancy J. Bowman, born 1859, married Jackson Clark, 23 Aug 1877, Owsley Co, KY. I believe this is the daughter of Squire & Rhoda. I have an autosomal match at AncestryDNA which shows Nancy married to an Elbert S. Francis - I believe this is just wrong.

Wrong trees on Ancestry....
We have a DNA match but you have made an error in your lineage due to copying from other Ancestry trees because many have this wrong. The Nancy Bowman who married Elbert S. Francis was NOT the daughter of Squire Felix at all. His Nancy married Jackson Clark and lived out her life in Clay Co, KY. The two Nancys were cousins and were both born the same year in Owsley Co. Easy to confuse. "Your" Nancy that married Elbert S. Francis was the daughter of Henry B. Bowman and Rachel Plummer and can be found with them in both the 1860 and 1870 censuses. If you are familiar with the FamilySearch website, you can find your Nancy Bowman with the correct parents at LZ6N-X8N.
