WINDOM - Mr. & Mrs. Edd White will be honored with an open house in their home Sunday, Jan. 22, in observance of their golden wedding anniversary.
Mrs. A. J. Thompson, Rt 1, Honey Grove, Mr & Mrs White's only child, will be hostess for the occasion.
The former Miss May Payne, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. Same Payne, she married Edd White, Jan 20, 1917, in Windom, seated in a Model T Ford parked in front of the Rev. E. J. Ezell's home. His parents were Mr. & Mrs. H. S. White and all were residents of the Flag Springs community.
Mr. White farmed at Flag Springs until his retirement seven years ago when they moved to Windom.
All friends and relatives of the couple are invited to attend the open house Sunday from 2 until 4 pm.

Mrs. May White Services to Be Held Sunday
Windom - Mrs. May Elizabeth White, 88, died in a Bonahm hospital at 4:30 p.m. Friday, May 26, 1972. She had been ill two weeks.
Funeral services will be held at the Cooper-Sorrells Funeral Home chapel in Honey Grove at 2:30 p.m. Sunday with Jim Jackson and the Rev. David Griffin officiating. Burial will be in the Wood Cemetery, west of Bugtussle.
Mrs. White was born Aug. 30, 1888, in the Flag Springs community, south of Windom, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sam Payne.
She married Ed W. White Jan 20, 1971.
Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. A. J. Thompson of Honey Grove; two brothers, Ed Payne of Phalia and Ples Payne of Oklahoma; one grandson, Ed Thompson of Honey Grove and a number of nieces and nephews.
She was a member of the Christian Church at Windom.
Members of the family were to be at the funeral home Saturday night between 7 - 9 o'clock to receive friends.
