"W" B Wood, Pvt, Co B, 12th Regt, Ala. Prisoner of War at Ft. Delaware, Del. He was captured at Gettysburg on Jul 4, 1863 and received on July 7-12, 1863. Transferred on Oct 13, 1863 to Pt. Lo. Maryland. "Dead" marked in pencil on margin of register, Ft. Delaware, Reg. No. 1, p.187.

A second Prisoners of War who died at Fort Delaware, Del. Muster card states:
H. B. Wood, Pvt, Co B, 18th Regt, VA Cav. was captured at Gettysburg on July 3, 1863, died Dec 4, 1863 of Typhs Ml fever, Ft. Delaware, Reg. 56, p.64.

Then there is a card dated Mar 28, 1917
To A.G.O. 10th St, Mr. Hasley: Card from Ft. Delaware, Del Reg. 56, page 64 shows H. B. Wood, Co B, 18 Regt Va. Cav. Captured Gettysburg July 3, 1863, Died Dec 4, 1863, Typhs Ml fever. We fail to locate him. Should be card showing him rec'd at Ft. Del. Anything addtl? Respectfully, F. Van Vrankin.
From 10th St. O. C. G. P. Book shows organization Co. B, 12th Ala. Hasley.

Another card for H. B. Wood, Pvt, Co. B, 12th Regt, AL. He appears on a Report of prisoners of war who have died at Fort Delaware, Del. from Dec 1-15, 1863, dated Dec 15, 1863. Captured at Gettysburg, PA on 5 July 1863, died 4 Dec 1863 of Scurvy. Locality of grave - Jersey Shore opposite Port.
