Death visited the home of Mrs. Elisabeth Jane Lewis in Stanford township and claimed the mother of Prof. O. O. Lewis of this city, Mrs. Chas. Clark, of Stanford township, and Mrs. Wm. B. Peake, of Omaha, Neb.
She passed away Sunday evening, April 18, 1920, about 6:00 o'clock. Mrs. Lewis had been in feeble health for some time, having suffered a stroke of paralysis sometime ago and was again stricken last Friday.
Mrs. Lewis at the time of her death was 75 years old. Her husband, Edmund A. Lewis passed away in 1912, and she continued to reside at the old home place after his death.
She was a member of the Harmony church from which place an impressive funeral service was held Tuesday morning, after which all that was mortal of this grand old mother was tenderly conveyed to the Kneff cemetery where by the side husband she now rests In peace.
