Note: there was a George Washington Shepherd living in Crawford Co who registered for the World War II draft in Van Buren and gave his birth as 24 Mar 1887, yet stated he was born in Mulberry, Crawford Co and his wife in 1942 was Lyda. THIS IS A DIFFERENT GEORGE AND SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN LINKED TO THIS FAMILY ON FINDAGRAVE.

George Washington Shepherd of 119 South 6th St., in Van Buren, Crawford, AR states he was born in Mulberry, AR, 24 Mar 1887. (When this same George registered for the WW I draft - he stated he was born in Graphic, Crawford Co, where he is buried.) Mrs. Lyda Shepherd is his nearest relative. His employer was Petit Jean Lumber Co, Ft. Smith, Sebastian Co, AR. Description is 5'6" (not tall), 126 lbs, blur eyes, gray hair.
On FamilySearch.com this George is LR57-73B and was married to Lyda Eugenia Teague, 14 Aug 1910, after the George, son of Wesley Uriah Sepherd was already married to Rosa.
The wife on the above stone also does not agree with other records.
FamilySearch lists wife as Rosie Mae Langston, b. 1886, d. 1952.
