Mary was the daughter of Benjamin Atwell.
Church Record Abstracts, New London contain the following entries which seem to be the wrong generation - perhaps Mary also had a brother Benjamin whose wife was Mary.

Mary & Husband Benjamin, owned the covenant, 29 Jun 1712; she & children Benjamin, Joseph & Mary, baptized the same day. Vol. 1, p.128 and Vol. 3, p.123

Mary Comstock's will was proved 14 Oct 1753 (1755?). Objections to approval of her will were presented by John Comstock, son of Kingsley of New London, dec'd, who was one of the children of Mary Comstock, dec'd; Stubly Scranton, guardian for Elisha Comstock, son of Daniel, dec'd, who was one of the children of Mary Comstock, dec'd; and Stephen Baker in right of his wife Elizabeth who was a daughter of Kinsley, dec'd.
On 26 September 1755, the Hempstead diary states. "the widow Mary Comstock aged about 83 Died. Widow of Kingsland COMSTOCK who died with the fall from a horse...." The next day he notes in his diary "the Widow COMSTOCK buryed. She Died very Sundenly (sic) yesterd(ay) morning, went to bed as well as comon & in the morning they found her a daying & before they could get any neighbours in She Expired."
