William Pellett

He was under age 21 in his father's 1531 will, but he was left lands in Steyning and other parishes in Sussex. He served in Parliament from Steyning in November of 1554. He purchased the Manor of Charlton cum Ashurst in Steyning, 13 May 1557.
William's will was dated 22 Aug 1558; probate was 15 Sep 1558. No wife was named and she is unidentified; appraently died before William. He named eldest son Richard; son John; brothers Richard and Thomas; daughters Margaret, Agnes, Catherine, Mary, Elizabeth, Anne, and Jane; an expected child; and his sister's daughter Alice Lambolde. Overseers to be his cousin John Gratwyck of Cowfold and his brothers Richard and Thomas Pellett.
John Gratwyck was the son of James Gratwyck of Cowford and Seaford, Sussex and his mother may have been Joan, daughter of the elder William Pellet who had an unmarried daughter Joan when he wrote his will in 1503.
