He held lands in eleven Sussex parishes and was to be buried in the Church of the Holy Trinity in Steyning. The widow Joan, late the wife of William Pellett, entered undated bills of complaint in Chancery against John Tanner of Washington, Sussex and his wife Joan for witholding from her deeds relating to a mese and 40 acres in Findon, Sussex, bequeathed to her by her husband. The Tanners disputed the claim, stating they had no knowledge of any right that William Pellett might have claimed.
