Capt Godfrey Isaacs

Said to have served in the Revolution as a captain in the militia.
Proof of his service is Revolutionary War Pension record of Matthew Sparks #S31385 states that he served under Captain Godfrey Isaacs. Captain Isaacs commanded a company of mounted Rangers in Wilkes County, North Carolina, during the War. They marched through the lower part of the States in search of Tories.

Deed of release- Godfrey Isaacs of Frederick Co., Va., to David Ashby of Frederick Co., Va. consideration 100 pounds Virginia money- tract on north side Main Road from Buck's Marsh to Ashbys Gap willed to him by his father, Samuel Isaacs, being part of a tract of land taken up "Pattented and Possessed by him said Samuel Isaacs in his lifetime"- 192 acres.
