Josias/Josiah Hull came to New England in 1632, age 16, along with his parents, his sisters Mary, 14, Martha 12, Elizabeth 7, brother Cornelius age 4, possible a brother Joshua age 2 if he survived the voyage, and sister Naomi born about the same year - 1632. The family settled first at Dorchester, removing to Windsor, CT in 1636-7, and on to Killingworth about 1662-3. He was the eldest child of George Hull & Thomasine Mitchell. The will of George Hull, proved 20 Oct 1659, gave a third of his estate to "Josyas Hull" and named him as executor along with his second wife, Sarah.

Josias was a representative to the General Court from Windsor 1959, 1660, and 1662. He was a founder of Killingworth along with Edward Griswold and one of the original settlers.
