Entered service 10 Aug 1862 at Schuyler Co, IL - muster in at Camp Butler, IL. Private, Co. D, 115th IL Infantry. He was 5' 9 1/2" tall, dark hair and eye, a farmer. Age 19. Signed up for 3 years. Noted as deserted 28 Sep 1862 at Camp Butler.

Asher Kent, son of John and Lucy Kent, was born in St. Louis, Mo., April 10th, 1843, and departed this life Sept. 10th, 1914, in East St. Louis, Ill., aged 71 years. He was the third child of a family of eleven children, four of whom are living - Thomas Kent of Guthrie, Okla.; Sarah Edmonds of Mt. Olive, Ill.; Mrs. James Curry and Mrs. Theo. Jones of Rushville. Was united in marriage to Miss Elizabeth Harmon April 10th, 1866. To this union were born six children, three of whom are living - John Kent and Albert Kent of East St. Louis, and Mrs. Amy Massey of St. Louis, Mo.
He was united in marriage to Miss Serena Curry of Rushville Sept. 15, 1882. To this union were born two children - Mrs. Nellie Turcott of East St. Louis and Mrs. John Twiggs of El Paso, Texas.
The deceased is survived by his wife and fifteen grandchildren. He was a believer of the chrstian faith thru life.
The body arrived in Rushville Saturday morning and was interred in Palm Cemetery on Sunday at 2 p.m. the following relatives from a distance were present: Mrs. Amy Massey, daughter and son of St. Louis, Mo.; W. E. Dixon, John Kent, Albert Kent, Mrs. Sirena A. Kent, Mrs. S. M. Miskimen and Mrs. Nellie Turcott of East St. Louis.
Note: Mrs. James Curry is sister, Ann and Mrs. Theo. Jones is sister, Angeline.

Amybell Massey died 29 Aug 1963, at her home, 4216 McKibbon, Berkeley, St. Louis Co, MO, of broncho-pneumonia. She was born 8 Mar 1867 to Asher Kent and Elizabeth Harmon. Her husband William H. Massey was deceased. Manola Koenig of 4216 McKibbon was the informant. Buried Aug 31st, Memorial Park, Jennings, MO.
