Individual Details
Charles M. Haden
(25 Apr 1832 - 17 Nov 1904)
Born Lowndes or Winston County MS. The 1850 Census presents a problem. Charles is listed as 16 (b. 1834) and sister Sarah is older at 18 (b. 1832) - probably just an error.
The marriage of Charles M. Haden & Sarah J. Mayberry is another connection between my family and that of my husband's. Charles was a third cousin to William Franklin Haden 91817-1880), my husband's gg grandfather, while Sarah was a fifth cousin to my gg grandmother, Letitia Ann Mayberry (1844-1926)
1880 Census. Beat 4, Jackson Co MS.

Charles M. Haden served in the Civil War.
Signed up at Meridian, MS on 20 Feb 1862; mustered in 20 mar 1852, served in Co. C, 36 MS Infantry. He was taken prisoner twice; First Sept - Dec 1862 and again taken near Van Wert, Ga on 25 May 1864, sent to Louisville, KY, then sent on to Rock Island, IL. I don't know how long it took him to get home after he was released, (last listing does not have a date on it). but this in part explains why so long a gap between children.
