He was born in Poplar Bluff, MO, Oct 9, 1920, son of William K. and Maude Carter Ferguson. He married Verina M. Knoppe on July 15, 1941, in Poplar Bluff.
He was a refrigeration engineer, last working for the Aerco Co for 10 years. Prior to that he was service manage for Montgomery Ward for 12 years. He last worked Feb. 25.
Mr. Ferguson was a Navy vetaran of World War II and was a member of St. Bernard's Church and Steamfitters Union Local 353.
Surviving are his wife; four sons, Charles E., Steven J. and Daniel R., all of Peioria, and Robert A. of Manito; one daugher, Mrs. Gary (Leola) Mrazek of El Paso, Tex.; two brothers, Raymond of Poplar Bluff and Floyd of Nashville, Tenn., and six grandchildren.

Gene was born to William and Verina (Knoppe) Ferguson. He married Judith "Judy" DeArcos and she preceded him in death. He later married Janet Snare and she preceded him in death.
His parents, one daughter, Terry Lee and a stepson, Bobby Snare also preceded him in death.
Surviving are his three sons, Garrot Ferguson, Rick Ferguson and Randy Guerrero; his stepdaughter, Amber (David) Larsen; stepson, Ronnie Snare; several grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; four siblings, Robert (Gloria) Ferguson, Leola (Bill) Anderson, Steve (Terri) Ferguson and Daniel (Lynn) Ferguson; and his dear friend, Hugh Harper.
Gene worked as a sales manager for Montgomery Ward until its closing and then worked with the Ag Lab in Peoria until retiring. He attended St. Monica Catholic Church in East Peoria and was a member of Ducks Unlimited and the N.R.A. Gene loved spending time with family, boating, hunting, fishing and camping at Giant Goose Lake.
