Memorand: That John Pray, & Sarah Browne, theire publiccation of Marriage was Sett forth on ye 18th of ye above instanced September, by Tho. Olney junr. Assistant, And was joyned togather in Mariage on ye 14th of November 1678 By Tho. Olney (junr.) Assistant.

1 Jan 1706/7 John Pray of Providence sold to James Browne for 1 pound of silver money, one half of a whole purchase right of thatchbed in Providence which is already laid out. It is that right which did belong to my father Richard Pray.

20 Sep 1708 John Pray sold to Mr. William Crawford for 2 pounds, five shillings, one half of a forty foot lot, being in Providence by the Salt Water. Said lot appertained to me by virtue of the orginal purchase right of my father Richard Pray, deceased. I being lawfully seized with one half of the said purchase right.

John Pray's will was dated 29 Apr 1726 and proved 5 Feb 1733/4.
John Pray, husbandman, of the town of Providence, Colony of Rhode Island, stated he was an aged man and growing weakly, but of sound mind and Memory.
To Sarah his dearly beloved wife, one halfe of homestead far, all cattle, dwelling house and household goods during her lifetime provided she remains a widow. Marries again, then son Richard shall have possession of same.

The town of Smithfield had been formed from Procidence - this was the first will recorded in the first volume of the Smithfield records.

Inventory dated 29 Oct 1733. States that John Pray departed this life 9 Oct 1733. Total was just over 61 #'s. Taken by Edward Smith, Job Whipple, Daniel Jenkes.
