Joseph Hunter

(1730 - Dec 1793)

There is much conflicting data about Joseph Hunter online. Some databases give his parents as Joseph Hunter and Margaret Greeting - others do not list the wife/mother.

Data re his children is also confusing and abstracts of his will as found online do not solve the problems. The two abstract are particularly confusing concerning the listing of sons in light of the fact that no databases list a son as "Archer" or Archibald. If I were a direct descendant, I'd want very much to see the original of this will. It does support the fact that two of his daughters married Linns. The daughters were not particularly lucky in love as some of the husbands were killed during the Revolution - daughter Nancy appears to have had an early divorce.
