Henry Benskin

NEHGS Quarterly, Vol. 39, 165. Henry Benskin's will written 26 Sep 1692 and proved in England, 19 Oct 1692. He was lately arrived in England from the plantation of Virginia. He left a bequest to two daughters, Mary Harman, wife of William Harman of New Kent Co on the York River, Virginia, and Frances Marston, wife of William Marston, living on the Shipperhominy River, James City Co, Virginia.

The will stated he had already settled what he had in Virginia before leaving, but left estate in England. He gave 20sh for rings to his mother Benskin, Mr. Alexander Roberts of Shadwell, shipwright, and Mr. Thomas Whitfield. Roberts & Whitfield were his executors. All remain property to go to the above two daughters.
The NEHGSQ article goes on to state that the author of "Genealogical Gleanings in England", Henry F. Waters, then residing in London, could find no grants of land in Virginia to Henry Benskin, or any of his surname. He did find:
