John's parents said to be Moses Farnum and Abigail Sanford.
John Farnum's first wife was Elizabeth Gaskill. The marriage record states she was the daughter of Samuel of Mendon, John the son of Moses of Uxbridge. The record said to be contained in those of the Smithfield Friends. I found their birth records in the Massachusetts Vital Records on the NEHGS website.
Intention to marry Martha Brown Comstock, 24 Jul 1756. Martha listed of Smithfield, John of Uxbridge. They were married by Thomas Arnold, Justice.
Will dated 26 Oct 1768, Smithfield, Providence RI. Proved 15 Sep 1772.
John Farnum, yeoman. Wife: Martha. Sons Joseph, Noah & Stephen. Daughters Mary & Rachel. Children to be educated until Joseph is 21. Brother is Moses Farnum. Witn: Thomas Steere, Nathan Steere, Rachel Steere.
