Ancestry family tree has Copy of the original Decree of Adoption for Gerald Scott Ramey, who was adopted by Frederick W. and Grace Ford on December 1, 1921, and renamed Gerald Kenneth Ford. Gerald Ramey's mother had died in 1918 and his birth father deserted the family in 1915. Gerald was in an orphanage at the time that the Ford's adopted him.
