Opal Irene Dugan, 89, of Wood River, formerly of the Mulberry Grove area, died at 12:10 pm Wednesday, Jan 26, 1994 at St. Clare's Hospital Extended Care Unit, Alton.
Services were held at 1 pm Saturday at Ripperdan-Schildknecht Funeral Home, Mulberry Grove, with the Rev. Leonard Castleman officiating. Burial was in McInturff Cemetery, Hagarstown. Memorials: First Baptist Church Building Fund, Mulberry Grove.
Mrs. Dugan was born Nov. 27, 1904, in Coffeen, daughter of Charles and Georgeanna Kelley Williams. She formerly worked for several years at Brown Shoe Co., Vandalia, and was a homemaker. She married Harold Collier Dugan on Dec. 12, 1923 in Vandalia. She died Jan. 8 1986. [I think this is the date of Harold's death!]
Surviving are her sons, Kenneth Eugene of Concord, Calif., Floyd Keith of Elko, Nev., and Harold Roger of Alton; daughter, Nadine Pence of Concord; brother Nelson Cook of Bethalto; sister, Amy Lowery of Mesa, Ariz.; 18 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
One son, Dean Collier Dugan, son sister June Ehrat, and one brother, Floyd "Bud" Williams, preceded her in death.
