Ancestry Family Tree match had this line. Other online information suggests that the John Spencer who married Mary McDowell that is in the database on Ancestry was born and died Albemarle, VA - he has very different dates. The Virginia John Spencer also had a son John, but he was a very different person. I believe what happened to the database is that a wrong wife was chosen. I have altered the wife to reflect what I believe to be better information.
